FONA International Holds Car Parade for Employees
Geneva, IL, July 27, 2020 –
FONA International, developer and manufacturer of complete flavor solutions replaced their annual picnic this year in order to comply with social distancing rules. How do you keep your workplace traditions alive in unusual times? For FONA, it means holding a decorate-your-car picnic parade, complete with raffle prizes, food and fun.
The first-ever FONA Family Picnic Parade was held on Saturday, July 18th in light of COVID-19 restrictions. Though the awaited annual cultural event was unlike any picnic in the past, FONA worked hard to change with the times to ensure the gathering still went on.
FONA’s Family Picnic is held annually to celebrate and gather with FONA employees and their families for a day of food, games, raffles and fun. This year, FONA’s employees were able to dress up their car to enter a ‘decorate your car contest’ and greet some of their FONA Family as they drove by. Employees and their guest(s) also received a delicious meal to pick up, a gift and even raffle prizes! Raffle prizes included PTO days, a television, Apple Watches and more.
“Even in unusual times, we wanted to keep the traditions that make FONA what it is while keeping everyone safe,” said Total Rewards Manager Lindsey Clark, “It might look different this year, but we’re excited to bring a little fun to employees’ summer.”
“Attending the FONA Picnic is something I look forward to every year. Everything from the food to prizes and spending time with coworkers and family makes it an exciting event,” said Marketing Director Lisa Demme, “Even though this year’s picnic was different, it was special to see how FONA came together, decorating their cars and finding unique ways to celebrate apart.”
