Thanksgiving is the most wonderful time of the year at FONA!

December 9, 2013

Traditionally Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, or so the song says, but that’s not true at FONA.

At FONA, Thanksgiving is the most wonderful time of the year!

It starts about a month in advance, when every employee is asked to write a little something about what they are thankful for over the past year. These essays, lists, and letters are organized by department and compiled into a beautiful book put together by FONA’s wonderful Corporate Communications team.

The day before Thanksgiving, production shuts down and everyone gathers for a lovely sit-down lunch. At every place setting is a copy of the thankfulness book along with a gift. FONA’s executive team share their thoughts and gratitude for the year, and employees laugh and talk as they enjoy their lunch.

The day is topped off with the distribution of bonuses – a Thanksgiving tradition at FONA. Managers meet individually with their employees to hand them a check along with their thanks for their hard work.

It’s a day of gratitude for many blessings – family, friends, food – and a day for focusing on relationships.
