Geneva, IL, August 6, 2018 – FONA International, family-owned creator and manufacturer of taste solutions, has been entered into the U.S. Congressional record, honoring the company’s awards, business growth, and employee engagement.

“I’m here to thank you,” said U.S. Representative Peter Roskam (6^th District), during a visit to the facility. “FONA is a company that truly cares not only for its customers but also for its employees.”

Rep. Roskam entered FONA into the Congressional record in honor of its recent awards, including a ranking as #2 workplace in Chicagoland by Fortune magazine and being named a Small Giant by Forbes, among others. FONA has also been named a top workplace for Millennials and women, by Fortune and Great Place to Work.

The congressman visited FONA on Monday and spoke to employees. He also presented Founder and CEO Joe Slawek with a copy of the record and noted that both his and wife Mary Slawek’s vision and hard work are to thank for FONA's growth and culture. He mentioned that 97% of FONA employees say they take "great pride" in working at FONA.

“I represent a lot of people in a Congressional district that are looking for things to be proud of, and are looking for things to be uplifted by,” he said. “You all are an example of what it is to do well in a marketplace, and to treat one another well and to be industry leaders in ways that I think are a great reflection of everyone.”
